A quick summary of my last few days, to eventually be followed by more detail, but I’m too busy:

I mentioned previously that I went to that Jay Farrar show. They weren’t allowing us to use flashes with our cameras, so I got a nice, dark, reddish hue to most of the pictures, here’s one of them, with Farrar on the right and the unbelievably talented Mark Spencer on the left:

Over the weekend headed down to Mount Airy, North Carolina, which is quite a bizarre town. As you may or may not know, this town was the model for Mayberry on the Andy Griffith Show and they’ve more or less left it like you saw it on that show. I’ll have a whole slideshow for this oddity, but here’s me sitting in Floyd’s Barber Shop. Yes, “Floyd the barber” was there and you can see him in the mirror behind me.

Mount Airy is also just 20 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, where we spent nearly an hour-and-a-half driving on Saturday, seeing some very nice sights like this one…

Yesterday on the way back to Greensboro to go to the airport, we had some time to kill, so we thought we would check out Pilot Mountain, which turned out to be the most beautiful sight(s) we had seen the entire weekend. I’ll have a whole slideshow on this in the upcoming week, too, but here’s a nice pic:
