I guess it’s time for the RustedRobot entertainment minute.

This little fresh batch of news came just came out of the oven: it seems the squinty-eyed, fish-faced Renee Zellweger has gotten married. The victim? Country singer Kenny Chesney. The two met in January of this year while doing some charity work. I’ll never quite understand the idea of being married only sixteen weeks or so after you meet someone, but I’m willing to believe they’re in it for the long haul. I also believe in Santa. Anyway, Zellweger, who is probably my favorite subject of Conan O’Brien’s recurring (and amazing) bit “If They Mated,” always seems so nice in television interviews. You know what that means, right?

Boy, I would give anything to feel the pressure that Dave Chappelle is under right now. $50 million deal? Check. Pop culture icon, quoted almost daily? Check. Funniest bastard on cable? Check (tie w/ Jon Stewart). I feel so bad for him, how will he ever survive? Oh, the torture.

Britney Spears is, like, um totally enjoying her pregnancy. It’s obvious that this important time in her life has made her sit back, reflect and intelligently ponder this new responsbility, evidenced by her deep, philosophical comments like “Eating for two is so much fun; I get to eat lots and lots!” A few minutes later, Spears was told that she had to carry the baby for six more entire months. Puzzled, she asked “wait – how will they get the baby clothes I bought on the baby next week, then? Do they come out naked??? Ewwwww!!!” We’re up to 14 minutes, 22 seconds, y’all.

Finally, in sad news, it appears as if one of NBC’s best shows and one of my favorites, American Dreams, is being cancelled. A travesty. I’m not sure why I got so hooked on this show, but it was one of the very few shows these days that I made it a point not to miss. Now comes word that my favorite show, Arrested Development, may not make it either. There’s still some hope there, though.
